Soweto giants show interest in signing Bongani Zungu from Ameins SC

Former Mamelodi Sundowns and University of Pretoria midfielder Bongani Zungu might be set to join the Neturena based side.

According to various reports, Kaizer Chiefs Football Club have contacted the Bafana Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu, as they are already preparing for the upcoming season.


The 28-year old recently returned to his parent club Ameins SC who are participating in the 2nd division in France. He is however considering his options, similar to last season’s situation.

The South african midfielder was reported that he forced his way out of the club last season. He was lucky enough to secure a move to the Scottish giants Rangers.


Bongani Zungu won the Scottish Premier League with Steven Gerrard’s side. The former Liverpool captain however decided not to keep Zungu.

Kaizer Chiefs have served their two transfer window ban. That gives them an opportunity to strengthen their squad ahead of the following season.
