FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Dr Beyers Naude mainly Willowmore area, in places over Sarah Baartman District, Raymond Mhlaba, Inxuba Yethemba and Enoch Mgijima Local Municipalities of the Eastern Cape, Dawid Kruiper and Kai !Garib and interior of Namakwa Local Municipalities of the Northern Cape, the northern parts of the West Coast and Central Karoo District Municipalities of the Western Cape.

ADVISORIES:

A. A Heatwave with persistently high temperatures is expected over the Richtersveld municipality of the Northern Cape until Tuesday (29/08/2023).

B. A heatwave with persistently high temperatures is expected in places over Amathole District Municipality as well as Sunday River Valley, Makana and Ndlambe Local Municipalities as well as Buffalo City Metro until Thursday(31/08/2023).

Gauteng

Temperature: Morning fog patches over the Highveld, otherwise fine and cool.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Mpumalanga

Temperature: Morning fog over the Highveld, otherwise fine and cold to cool. It will be partly cloudy in the east, but cloudy in the Lowveld.

Limpopo

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the south-west, otherwise cloudy and cool to warm with drizzle along the escarpment.

North West

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm.

Free State

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm.

Northern Cape

Temperature: Fine and warm but cool in the south.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate north-westerly.

Western Cape

Temperature: Fine and warm to hot.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly to northerly becoming moderate north-westerly along the west-coast, but light and variable along the south-coast in the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.

Eastern Cape

The Western half: Fine and warm.

The Western half – The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly

The Eastern half: Fine and warm, but cool in places in the north.

The Eastern half – Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal

Temperature: Morning fog patches in places over the interior and partly cloudy in the north-east, otherwise fine and cool, but warm in places in the east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate easterly to north-easterly, becoming fresh in the south in the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
