Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove has been named in the final squad of Mozambique national team despite not featuring for his club this season so far.

Dove is yet to play for chiefs this season after he last played in a pre-season friendly in July against Tanzanian champions Young Africans.

Despite not featuring at club level, Mozambique head coach Chiquinho Conde has named the experienced defender into his final ‘Mambas’ squad, as he looks to take them to their first ever AFCON since they last participated as hosts in 2010.

Another familiar face is 39-year-old national team captain Domingues Elias Pelembe, who is currently on the books for UD Songo after leaving Royal AM.

Meanwhile, free agent Manual Kambala has been left out, even though he made the cut last time.

The Mambas will face Benin at home in a crucial African Cup Of Nations qualifiers match next month, when they need a draw to secure a ticket to Côte d’Ivoire in January.
