Sekhukhune Trim Squad Ahead Of Debut CAFCC Season

Sekhukhune United have made major changes to their squad as they venture into the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in their history.

Brandon Truter’s side has been one of the most active in the market thus far signing seven players and promoting two from their reserve team.

But 18 players have now made way as well, as Truter, as he mentioned he needed to do, streamlines his bloated squad numbers ahead of the 2023/24 season.

iDiski Times understands several players have received their settlements, added to loans and contracts expiring that have not been renewed.

Nyiko Mobbie from Mamelodi Sundowns was the only temporary switch that was secured again, following two impressive campaigns with the 2022/23 Nedbank Cup runners-up.

While Tlotliso Phatsisi and Katlego Molaba are due for loans in the Motespe Foundation Championship, the club’s exit list reads as follows:

  • Victor Letsoalo – AmaZulu transfer
  • Sammy Seabi – Mamelodi Sundowns loan expired
  • Tshegofatso Mabasa – Orlando Pirates loan expired
  • Sello Motsepe – released
  • Given Mashikinya – released and joined Polokwane City
  • Toaster Nsabata – settlement
  • Denwin Farmer – settlement
  • Abednego Mosiatlaga – settlement
  • Train Mokhabi – settlement
  • Seth Parusnath – contract expired
  • Prince Nxumalo – contract expired
  • Tlotlo Leepile – contract expired
  • Philani Zulu – contract expired
  • Roderick Kabwe – contract expired
  • Mzwanele Mahashe – contract expired
  • Siyabulela Shai – contract expired
  • Tashreeq Morris – set for settlement
  • Nkanyiso Madonsela – set for settlement
