Generations actress Manaka Ranaka, who plays Lucy Diale in the SABC 1 soapie, has made it clear that she won’t let her children be virgins for the rest of their lives. She was responding to a report of Theresie, a 123-year-old woman who said she had never been intimate with a man or seen him naked.
A Response to Theresie’s Story
Theresie expressed her need for a partner to sexually stimulate her and spend a night of passion with her. She stated that because men and women in her culture are not allowed to have sex before being introduced, she had never been intimate with a man before.
Ranaka shared the video on her feed and captioned it: “Hayi Gogo Ngeke shem. It can never be me!” She also added: “Stop telling women to remain virgins for men who don’t even pretend to be virgins.”

Manaka said that because she would rather be a grandmother, she would never let her children stay virgins forever. “I’m not even allowing my kids to remain virgins…I’d rather be a grandmother. I’m sorry guys, [but] can my daughters enjoy whatever they want to enjoy sexually,” she said.
