New Kaizer Chiefs signing Edson Castillo has explained why he opted to make the move to the Soweto giants.
The Venezuela international is said to have fielded several offers in his homeland and Asia but Chiefs managed to lure him to South Africa ahead of the 2023/24 season.
A natural six who recently turned 29, Castillo was identified as a priority target for the technical team and he admits after arriving at the club, he knows he made the right call for his future.
“I am very happy for the opportunity and I am also very excited about coming to such a big club,” he told the club’s website.
“I had opportunities to go to other clubs but when I heard about the interest from such a big club I had no doubts about coming here, and seeing this welcome, I am very happy and believe I have made the right decision. I want to win trophies and have a successful time here.”
Castillo teamed up with the Chiefs squad on Friday afternoon who are set for a pre-season camp this weekend.
