UWC Overtake Sundowns Ladies In HWBSL

University of the Western Cape (UWC) moved to the top of the Hollywoodbets Super League log with 51 points following a 1-0 win over Ma-Indies Ladies in the mother city.

Captain Bongeka Gamede scored late in the match to help the 2023 Varsity Cup champions bag maximum points and open a point lead against closest rivals Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, who are in action at the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifiers in Durban. The Limpopo side remains at the bottom of the log with six points from 21 matches.

Royal AM moved to third place with 43 points after defeating Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in Pretoria. TUT are now in 11th place with 21 points from 20 encounters.

TS Galaxy Queens and JVW FC played to a 2-2 draw at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium to occupy fourth and fifth places, respectively, with both sides on 41 points but Galaxy enjoy a better goal difference.
