Media personality and songstress Unathi Nkayi has expressed her gratitude to those who have supported her throughout her 22-year career. She recently shared a throwback video on her Instagram timeline, in which she can be seen presenting the Coca-Cola Popstars TV show. In the caption, she reflects on the unexpected longevity of her career.

A Look Back at 2004

In 2004, Unathi was pregnant with her first child while hosting Pop Stars South Africa. She writes, “Never in a million years would I have expected to have had such a wonderful career for this long. This morning let me thank you SouthAaa for your love over the last 22 years. Here’s to another 22 with you.”

Fans Join in on the Nostalgia

Unathi’s followers joined her on her trip down memory lane, with many leaving comments on the post. Minnie Dlamini wrote, “I remember this!!! From watching you growing up to calling you an industry colleague and SISTER is (mind-blowing emoji).” Another added, “Damn, 22 years already. Amazing stuff sis! You definitely are goated at this.”

The Biggest Fight of Her Career

Unathi is currently involved in what seems to be the biggest fight of her career: a high court case against her former employer, Kaya 959. She has stated that she plans to share her side of the story at the end of the case.

A Documentary in the Works

Through her production company, Unathi has begun shooting a documentary about her experiences. She promises to share all documents and both sides of the story at the end of the case. In a video shared on Instagram, she said, “I’ll share all documents and you’ll finally get both sides of the story.”

Gratitude for Support

Unathi thanked her followers for their support during this difficult time. She acknowledges that the case could last for months or even years, but assures her fans that she has been saving for this eventuality since being fired 18 months ago. “I knew this day would come,” she said.
