Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies qualified for their third successive CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifiers semi-finals with one Group match to spare thanks to a 4-0 win over Young Buffaloes of Eswatini in Durban on Saturday.

Coach Jerry Tshabalala made nine changes to the side that thrashed Olympic de Moroni 8-0 in the Group opener last Thursday.

Sundowns could have scored more goals but were wasteful, especially in the first half. It took Lelona Daweti’s hat-trick in the ninth, 61st and 90th minute and an Andisiwe Mgcoyi second-half goal to get the victory and eventual qualification for the last-four.

Sundowns top Group B with six points and a healthier goal difference over second-placed Costa Do Sol, who also already qualified with six points on the group log from two matches.

Meanwhile the Buffalos and de Moroni are effectively out of the tournament, lying in third and last place, respectively.

The top two teams from the two groups at the COSAFA qualifiers will play in the semi-finals with only one team going to the continental CAF Women’s Champions League finals in Ivory Coast in November.
