Sukazi Reveals Truth About Aubaas-Pirates Talk

TS Galaxy president Tim Sukazi has insisted there is no truth on transfer talk linking midfielder Bathusi Aubaas with a move to Orlando Pirates, and also addressed the blunder on the Bafana Bafana team sheet.

Aubaas, 28, made his Bafana debut in the 2-1 win over Morocco and never looked out of depth during an impressive outing after being trusted by Hugo Broos.

However, there was commotion around the midfielder after he was “mistakenly” listed as Orlando Pirates player on the South Africa team list, which was shared by the Confederation of African Football.

Sukazi had already slammed the situation on Saturday, calling it an embarrassment and was still upset about the error on Monday.

“It was a complete disgrace and an embarrassment to the association itself, to both clubs and CAF – CAF were fed poison with that team sheet, with Aubaas being listed as a player of another club,” he told Thabiso Mosia on GamaOn on Radio2000.

“I was really flabbergasted and dismayed and deeply disappointed. There is no formal apology as yet, but I must say the manager reached out, I think he saw my social media renting, he reached out and rendered his apology.

“He explained the situation, apparently he had the old team sheet as template. There was Miguel Timm, he removed Timm’s name and replaced him with Aubaas but didn’t change the club.

“It is what it is, the damage was done and it is a clear undermining of Pirates and TS Galaxy.”

Sukazi also slammed reports of linking Aubaas with a move to the Buccaneers, insisting there have been “no talks” between the two clubs.

Worse even, in this case there has been those rumours linking Aubaas with Orlando Pirates and it’s a blatant lie, it’s absolute nonsense.

“You can imagine the kind of commotion the uncertainty this creates, the talk in both games. At Pirates now there is an expectation that they deliver Aubaas, I suppose from their supporters – a player that they have not been negotiating about at all with TS Galaxy,” he explained.

“This kind of an error, an error it may be but it was a bad one.”

Finally, Sukazi confirmed that The Rockets have not been approached by any club over their interest in signing the new Bafana midfielder.

“We haven’t been approached on Aubaas, nothing. Of course, if anyone comes we’ll always engage. We are that club,” he added.
