Stellies Striker Set For Next PSL Switch

Richards Bay have landed the signing of Stellenbosch forward Sinethemba Mngomezulu ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Mngomezulu, 23, joined Stellies from TS Galaxy last season and showed real promise in the first half of the campaign as he was eased into the starting eleven by head coach Steve Barker and had a spell in October and November where he netted in three successive games.

At the time Barker stated to this publication he was one for the future, as he was notably reaching peak physical condition, but the arrival of Iqraam Rayners in January saw his starting opportunities limited as the Bafana Bafana forward became one of the most prolific scorers in the country.

The Natal Rich Boyz have since come calling and managed to prise him away from the Cape Winelands outfit, according to sources close to the club, as they continue they look to find that regular goalscorer, which was clearly lacking in their debut top-flight campaign.

Somila Ntsundwana was their top scorer with just four league goals but they’ve now added Letsie Koapeng from relegated Marumo Gallants, Justice Figuareido from All Stars and the robust Mngomezulu to their attacking options for the new season.

Overall, the former Uthongathi star netted four goals in 23 games, eight of which were starts, while he netted four in 11 starts for the Rockets in the 2021/22 season.
