Stellies have acquired the services of defender Thabo Moloisane on a long-term deal.

Last season, he made 27 appearances for the Team of Choice across all competitions.

Moloisane represented South Africa at the FIFA U-20 World Cup and CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in 2019.

“Stellenbosch Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of former South Africa youth international Thabo Moloisane on a free transfer,” read the statement.

STELLENBOSCH COACH STEVE BARKER ON THABO MOLOISANE

“Thabo Moloisane is a player with a lot of experience both at PSL and NFD level,” said Barker

“He is a player who has shown his leadership qualities at every club he has played for.

“We also believe that he is an underrated footballer who will flourish and develop intoa really top centre-back with us at the club, with the added benefit of his versatility.”

To add to that, the Western Cape-based outfit have already announced the signing of former Baroka FC goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke to strengthen their last line of defence.

Masuluke was in the books of Motsepe Foundation Championship side Baroka last season. He featured in 22 matches in the second tier and scored two goals.

The 30-year old shot-stopper will compete with Sage Stephens, Lee Langeveldt and Dejean Ah Shene for the starting berth in goalkeeping department.

Meanwhile, Stellies have already lost two of their key players in Junior Mendieta and Ibraheem Jabaar who signed for Mamelodi Sundowns and Maccabi Petah Tikva respectively.

Furthermore, the Steve-Barker-coached cub is expected welcome former Orlando Pirates attacker Collins Makgaka on a free transfer transfer.

Makgaka parted company with Pirates after his contract came to an end on 30 June. The 27-year old midfielder is seen as a replacement for the departed Mendieta.
