‘Sometimes I don’t know’ Lewis Hamilton on his F1 future

Lewis Hamilton says he is unsure if he wants to continue his Formula 1 career.

The 38-year-old driver is highly regarded as the greatest driver in the sport and has been in the forefront for over 16 years.

The Brit has won a record seven world championships and came close to winning his 8th in 2021 but was controversially denied. Since then, he has struggled to find wins and consistency.

Hamilton still chasing his 8th title

“I really don’t care what position I finish in this year. I am focused on giving the best development information for the team. Working with the guys, making sure we steer this car in the right way,” Hamilton told Channel 4 Sport in an interview.

Hamilton has been on the road for 16 years and has sacrificed a lot to be the face of the sport.

“I have days where I’m like I don’t know if I can keep going. That’s just based on the lot of travelling. All the sacrifices people make in their careers. Striking a balance between social life, family life and career being the best it can.

“Something has to give. The other two, which are the most important, take a hit. I think about that often. But then I get into the paddock and get into the car, I’m like damm I love this so much,” Hamilton said.

Hamilton is yet to renew his contract at Mercedes but said his intentions was to continue with the team that helped him win six of his seven titles.
