TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic has put his head on the chopping block and stated that one day he “will win the league”, adding that he was left hurt to have lost to Royal AM at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.
Ramovic went to that game on a high after his Galaxy side beat Kaizer Chiefs last weekend and in a space of days from that morale-boosting win, his side’s morale was slashed by John Maduka’s side, who registered their first league win of the season.
While Maduka punched in the air in delight to get the first maximum points, it was the first loss of the season for Ramovic’s side, who are third on the DStv Premiership table with seven points after four matches.
Asked by iDiski Times that Mamelodi Sundowns are galloping yet again away with the league title this season after starting with five wins from five matches, does he have aspiration to stop them one day since last season Galaxy was one of the clubs that beat Sundowns in Pretoria along with SuperSport United, Ramovic’s face said it all.
“It is so painful right now inside me because my goal was to win against Royal AM and to win the next game and of course climb up,” he explained.
“It is something that is inside me – I want to win. I want to chase and also want to win. Because I know I’ll give everything and the day it will come and God willing.
“I want and I will win and you can quote me on this one, but one day I will win the league. How? I’ll work hard and this is my main goal.
“But right now we have to be realistic, we have to fight for the top eight spot. If we reach this, it will be the same as winning the league because we are a new club and everything is new.
“(But) my main goal and I’m sure it is a dream from any coach is to win the league, so we have to fight.
“I know with hard work, dedication that I have, with knowledge that I have, with my past as a player, one day I will win the league.”
Galaxy stayed in Durban after Royal AM’s loss on Saturday, and next visit AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday (19:30).
