Pirates Approach Yanga Coach As Exit Looms

Orlando Pirates have approached Yanga SC strength and conditioning coach Helmy Gueldich with his contract set to expire at the end of this month.

Pirates are in the market for a new member of their technical team after Senior Rehabilitation Specialist Stephen Plummer parted ways after eight years in the role.

He’s set for a return to the Blue Bulls and the Buccaneers communicated they’ve begun their search for a new Sports Scientist to fill the vacancy – and Gueldich fits the profile.

Gueldich, who has been lauded as one of the key figures in Yanga’s success alongside his compatriot Nasreddine Nabi after the past two seasons in Tanzania has now had contact with the Soweto giants, sources close to the club have confirmed to iDiski Times.

It coincides with Nabi’s talks with Amakhosi were Nabi has been firm in his belief that the Tunisian is a crucial part of his technical team and should be included in any potential move to Amakhosi, where talks are still deadlocked with the Soweto giants.
