Ngezana Makes Long-Awaited FCSB Superliga Debut

Siyangonga Ngezana finally made his Superliga debut for Romanian giants FCSB but was on the losing side against UTA Arad on Monday evening.

Ngezana, who turned 26 last month joined the 26-time league winners from Kaizer Chiefs in the off-season in a deal that could reach up to R12-million.

However, he was made to wait until matchday six to make his official league debut coming on as a half-substitute for former Tottenham defender Vlad Chiricheș, another off-season signing that’s kept him out of the team to date.

Club President Gigi Becali previously suggested the technical team stated he was not up to speed with the physical demands of the new environment and training and would need few more weeks to settle.

However, it wasn’t quite a debut to remember as they suffered their first defeat of the 2023/24 campaign, but remain at the summit of the league by a single point, with a game in hand over second-placed U Craiova.

Ngezana will now be aiming to solidify his place in the team after the 75-time capped Romania international Chiricheș appeared to have suffered an injury before his exit from the pitch.
