Pitso Mosimane has explained why he joined United Arab Emirates side Al Wahda, while his mandate at his new club has also been revealed.

The South African tactician left Al Ahli Saudi recently but wasn’t long without a club as he was unveiled by four-time UAE league winners Al Wahda on Saturday night.

On Monday, Mosimane’s agency MT Sports Marketing and Management confirmed that Maahier Davids (assistant), Kabelo Rangoaga (conditioning coach), Musi Matlaba (analyst), Kyle Solomon (analyst), and Hamad Alyami (goalkeeper coach) will join ‘Jingles’ technical team.

Mosimane himself also broke his silence on his move to A Wahda, revealing why he opted to stay in Asia.

“I am honoured to join Al Wahda F.C. as their Head Coach,” he said.

“We are impressed by the club’s vision, ambition, and commitment to excellence and together with the talented players and the dedicated staff, we will strive to achieve greatness.”

Meanwhile, MT Sport also stated that Mosimane wants to deliver on the mandate to win the UAE championship after the club’s last league title coming in 2009/10.

“With Coach Pitso and his technical team’s expertise and proven successful track record, the mandate that he aims to deliver on is to dominate the UAE Pro League and bring championship titles to the Home of Champions,” his representatives stated.

Mosimane has won 19 trophies throughout his managerial campaign, starting with the SAA Super Eight and his first Nedbank Cup title with SuperSport United.

During his successful spell with Mamelodi Sundowns he won five Premier Soccer League titles, two more Nedbank Cups, two Telkom Knockouts, one CAF Champions League and one CAF Super Cup.

At Egyptian giants Al Ahly, he added another two CAFCL and two CAF Super Cup titles, as well as one Egyptian Cup, before he secured the Yelo League title in Saudi Arabia.
