Galaxy Closing In On Msimango Replacement

TS Galaxy are closing in on a move for Sandile Khumalo from AmaZulu as the replacement for former captain Given Msimango.

Khumalo rose through the ranks of the KwaZulu-Natal club and became the captain of the Usuthu DStv Diski Challenge squad before earning a promotion to the senior side in 2019.

Khumalo had a good 2021/22 season where he made seven CAF Champions League appearances and nine league appearances. He started the 2022/23 on a high by playing 87 minutes in MTN8.

But things swung in the wrong direction as he only made five appearances since the MTN8 semi-final second leg against Kaizer Chiefs and only played 391 minutes in the 2022/23 season overall.

iDiskiTimes can confirm that Khumalo is edging closer to Galaxy, as the 25-year-old has been earmarked as a huge talent capable of taking his career to the next step.

The Rockets are embarking on a rebuild after losing their key players; Melusi Buthelezi, Ebrahim Seeadt and Tshegofatso Nyama and Msimango.

As previously reported by this publication Rwanda international Ntwari Fiacre has already been secured as the replacement for the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.
