AmaZulu FC midfielder Ethan Brooks has revealed what has been lacking at the club as they remain winless in the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

The KZN-based side is one of the teams yet to register a win in the league since the start of the new campaign.

More so, AmaZulu are yet to score even a single goal in their opening four league games under the guidance of head coach Pablo Franco Martin.

AmaZulu played three back-to-back goalless draws against Royal AM, SuperSport United and Richards Bay and lost 3-0 to Kaizer Chiefs last Saturday.

Another team that’s yet to win a match is PSL newbies Cape Town Spurs, who lost all four of their opening league matches.

Spurs suffered defeats against TS Galaxy, Sekhukhune United, Polokwane City and Chippa United.

Meanwhile, Ethan Brooks, who started all four matches, has weighed in on AmaZulu’s poor run of form.

“To be honest, I feel we’ve just been unlucky because we’ve been failing to get in front of goals, and the ball doesn’t wanna get into the net,” said Brooks.

“I feel like everyone has that capability to score, so I feel like [on] Wednesday we should hopefully score two [goals].

“I mean, it’s not like in the pre-season we were not scoring, so it’s just unfortunate that we aren’t able to score right now,”

The Bafana Bafana international, who joined AmaZulu at the start of the 2022/23 season from TS Galaxy, has also spoken about facing his former club.

“Every game you play, there’s pressure, I mean, I didn’t play against them [Galaxy] last season, it’s exciting getting to play against them.

“But like I said, every game there’s pressure, so this one is gonna be one of those games where I have to show up.”

AmaZulu and TS Galaxy will lock horns in the league on Wednesday, 30 September 2023, at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. The match will kick off at 19:30.
