DJ Zinhle Responds to Criticism of Her Family Dynamics

DJ Zinhle has had enough of social media users weighing in on her family dynamics. She recently took to Twitter to tell naysayers to keep their opinions to themselves.

Controversy Over Mörda’s T-Shirt

Zinhle’s husband Mörda recently became a trending topic on Twitter after users found it inappropriate for him to wear a tribute T-shirt for AKA, launched by Cultish months after the rapper was gunned down in Durban.

Zinhle’s Family

Zinhle is a mother of two daughters: her firstborn from a relationship with AKA and her second born with Mörda. Her family also includes Nadia Nakai and AKA’s relatives.

Zinhle’s Response

In response to the criticism, Zinhle stated that the structure they had set up for their family was in the best interest of their children. “While we absolutely respect and can appreciate the different opinions about our lives, our number one priority is and will always be Kairo and Saint… their wellbeing is more important to us than any opinion or ridicule you throw at us,” she wrote.

She went on to explain that their family structure is built on peace, love, support, and the well-being of their children. “We will continue in this way, it really doesn’t matter how many times there are debates about us… maybe this is what needs to happen for people to start unlearning pride-driven habits that don’t benefit our kids.”

DJ Zinhle Defends Her Relationships

Images of Zinhle spending quality time with Nadia and AKA’s family flooded social media two months ago. In response, the DJ went live on Instagram to tell trolls that she had no reason to stop getting along with anyone she had built relationships with over the years through her baby’s father.

“I feel like a lot of people have a lot of opinions about situations they’ve never been in… I’m still going to shock people. I was even joking and saying: ‘Nadia, when your boyfriend comes, he needs to come here, we’re all a family.’”

Zinhle expressed confusion over why South Africans are so scared of getting along. “I think for a lot of South Africans it would have given them so much comfort if Kiernan and I never get along… Conflict is such a heavy burden to carry… I love everyone. I want to get along with everyone.”
