Davids – Billiat Is An Olympic Diver

Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids has accused Khama Billiat of being susceptible of diving ahead of Saturday’s Soweto Derby.

Billiat won Amakhosi’s injury-time penalty in the reverse fixture when Kaizer Chiefs beat the Buccaneers 2-1.

Davids, though, has insisted he hopes for a better match official in Saturday’s game, alleging that Billiat goes down too easily inside opposition boxes.

“You can go back to how many penalties Kaizer Chiefs have had in the derby,” he said on Thursday.

“I hope we can be clear in relation to penalty decisions tomorrow. Clear, structured decisions, neutral on both sides.

“Yes, you talk about the Billiat incident, but we know Billiat – you touch him, a small contact or any touch inside the box, already he’s diving in the Olympic pool.

“I hope the referees are clear and know these things, knowing that any contact in and around the box and Orlando Pirates concede another penalty.

“That we can be clear on and know what’s coming, especially with Kaizer Chiefs front three and Billiat.”

Davids also insisted that Pirates must look at the positives from their 2-1 defeat to their bitter rivals.

“[But] we can take the positives out of the last derby, conceding in the last minute, coming back the way we did, dominating the way we did,” he added.

“We take the positives but they’re a changed team.”

Pirates will host the Glamour Boys at the Orlando Stadium at 15:30 on Saturday, with both sides sitting on 32 points but Amakhosi have played three games less.
