Botswana international on the radar of Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit

A Botswana international is on the radar of a Motsepe foundation Championship outfit, Pretoria Callies, FARPost has learnt.

It has emerged that the Pretoria-based club is chasing the signature of a hard-tackling midfielder from Botswana ahead of the new PSL season.

Now with the transfer window open, the midfielder, who is in the books of Gaborone United, has attracted the interest of Callies.

The midfielder is none other than Lebogang “CCTV” Ditsele. Last season, the 27-year-old Ditsele played a vital role as Gaborone United finished in second place in the Botswana Premier League log standings during the 2022/23 season.

As his club is eager to keep him for the upcoming season, it may, however, seem difficult to do so with interest growing in his name and also with his contract.

CALLIES EYE ZEBRAS’ MIDFIELDER

With Callies intensively eyeing the midfielder, they are on the move of bolstering their midfield following the departure of Oswin Appolis and Tlou Nkwe, who both signed with newly promoted Polokwane City.

The Motsepe Foundation Championship side ultimately make an ideal destination for Gaborone United’s player. This follows as Callies emerges as the leading club in the chase to acquire Ditsele’s services.

Not only is Ditsele on the Callies’ radar, but the club has also exercised its ability in the transfer market to another midfielder at Gaborone United.

Callies has shown an interest in the services of central midfielder Mothusi Cooper. The 25-year-old midfielder has impressed the representatives of Callies, who eventually tabled an offer for him in the process. As such, Cooper’s deal looks viable as his contract with the club has ended on the 30th of June, 2023.

On the other hand, it seems viable for Ditsele’s return to the South African top-flight league after having once been in the books of now-defunct Highlands Park during the 2016/17 season.

As it stands, Ditsele’s scintillating attitude has earned him a national call-up for the 2023 COSAFA Cup competition in South Africa.

He has thus far impressed by scoring a winning goal for the Zebras against Swaziland in the opening match of the competition on Wednesday,5 July in King Zwelithini Stadium, Durban.

He walked away with the Man of the Match award for his efforts.
