Bay Appoint Tembo As New Coach

Richards Bay has finally found the coach and it is Kaitano Tembo, as it was revealed by this website earlier.

Tembo has been without a club after he was released by Sekhukhune United during the FIFA World Cup in November and December last year, where he was replaced by Brandon Truter.

The former SuperSport United coach replaces Vasili Manousakis, who was sacked at the end of last season following a poor showing in the second half of the campaign, winning just one game.

Bay were then interested in appointing Mandla Ncikazi from Orlando Pirates and everything was agreed, but the move was stopped in the last minute despite chairman Sifiso Biyela having spoken to Bucs supremo Irvin Khoza.

It meant chairman Biyela had to go and find another coach, as Ncikazi was on top of his list who he felt can lead his side in a better place having done well with Golden Arrows with a shoe string budget.

Tembo, who won the MTN8 with SuperSport – the club he spent close to 20 years, will be assisted by Siboniso Gumede. The latter and Sibusiso Msomi have been running the club’s pre season’s plans.
