South African rapper Chad Da Don is officially stepping back into the spotlight, announcing his return to music after a period away from the scene.

The Pretoria-born artist, whose real name is Donovan Chad Mansoor, shared the news with fans on Instagram, making it clear that his hiatus is over and new music is already in motion.

“Been away for a while, but we’re back now… Recorded my new single this past weekend. Big shout-out to @skysablustudios for hosting us,” he wrote.

While the announcement was brief, it was enough to stir excitement among fans and within the local hip-hop community.

Chad also acknowledged the creatives behind the upcoming track, giving credit to producers C4 Godlevel, Facious and Lez RSA, while hinting at further collaborations by mentioning Bornsinnv.

His closing words, “stay tuned”, only added to the anticipation.

Known for his sharp lyricism and distinct style influenced by motswako, Chad Da Don has built a steady reputation in South African hip-hop since the release of The Book of Chad.

Over the years, he has worked alongside notable artists, including Emtee and Jay Jody, cementing his place in the industry.

His return comes after a deeply personal chapter in his life.

Earlier this year, the rapper marked four years of sobriety, opening up about his past struggles and near-death experiences linked to substance abuse.

In a candid reflection, he spoke about overcoming addiction, mental health battles and dark moments, crediting his journey to resilience, faith and a strong support system.
