Woman Shares Her Skin-Care Journey And Tips On How To Achieve A Flawless Skin
Maintaining excellent, flawless skin requires a dedicated skin care routine. Retinol is one of the products that have been helpful in her skin-care journey. Retinol and retinoids can be a good first line of defense against wrinkles ,spots and fine lines. They can also make your skin look brighter and glowing.
What is retinol?
Retinal and retinoids, like retinal palmitate and retinoic acid, are all derivatives of vitamin A. Vitamin A is a key nutrient in our bodies that boosts cell turnover.
It’s often added to skincare products for several benefits, including:
- Exfoliation of dead skin cells
- Acne reduction
- Brightened skin tone
- Unclogged pores
It can even gradually fade stretch marks and psoriasis, making this a smart solution for all kinds of people.
Retinoids first became popular in 1971 as a way to treat acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and even some cancers.
The very first one was Retin-A, which was designed to treat acne. However, when doctors found that it actually promotes cell turnover and fades pigmentation spots.

Retinols are usually a weaker version of retinoids, so they can be bought over the counter. High concentrations will require a prescription and an adjustment period.
They’re offered in many forms, including serums, creams, gels, and ointments.
Here are some tips she shared on her thread:
“I’m only sharing products that I’ve been using this year. I’ve only just recently added Hyaluronic acid and retinol to my routine”
This is what I use for my morning routine:
1. Organic oil cleaner
2. Hydrating cleanser from CeraVe
3. Purifying Toner from Clicks skincare Collection
4. Vitamin C serums (I use both sometimes )
5. Day Cream (not pictured here but same brand)
6. Blemish cream
7. Sunscreen
For my night-time routine, same process of double cleansing with:
1. Cleansers mentioned above.
2. You can use a toner here if you want, I don’t.
3. I apply retinol on dry skin 3 times a week
4. On damp skin, I apply HA
5. Moisturise
6. Then I seal everything with face oil.
The pictures above were taken last night. I will say that you every skin is different, again what works for me might not work for you. Research, see a dermatologist but also be consistent on your routine. If it burns, you should stop using it.
