Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has labelled the 5-0 drubbing by world champions France a “wonderful experience”.
The 30-year-old made several saves in the game to prevent a higher loss against the world champions on Tuesday evening.
However, despite the heavy defeat Williams insisted there were some positives to take for his side from the result.
“It was a wonderful experience playing against such huge stars,” he said after the match.
“Obviously, the players will learn a lot from this. And this will only make us a better team going forward.
“We will focus more on the performance than the result. So yeah, there’s a lot of positive things that we will take into our qualifiers coming up in June.
“And obviously a lot of negative that we need to work on as well to get better. This overall camp was one fruitful and there’s something good to look forward to.”
Bafana will now start their AFCON qualification when the next International break comes around in June, but the draw is yet to be held.
