The wife of slain anti-gang unit detective Charl Kinnear says the South African Police Service is letting her down.
Nicolette Kinnear received a letter from police last week saying it’s withdrawing protection services from Monday.
Kinnear then reached out to various people for assistance, including the provincial community safety MEC who wrote a letter to Police Minister Bheki Cele.
She later received a call from her lawyer saying they had just been informed that police protection will continue until further notice.
However, Kinnear says she will continue to consult her legal team as she fears the police protection can be removed at any moment again.
