As 2022 began, Kelello Segoana, aka Kaylow and Unathi Nkayi made news when it emerged that the two were dating.

Kaylow is a self-proclaimed Minister of Music and one of the most underrated vocalists in South Africa with hits like Dysfunctional Head, and Nothing Better, while Unathi Nkayi is a popular television and radio personality.

Are Kaylow and Unathi Nkayi really dating?

Rumours that Kaylow and Unathi Nkayi were dating emerged after pictures of the two cosying up to each other made rounds on Twitter during the month of love.

Kaylow took to Twitter to post a series of photos of him with Unathi Nkayi cuddling on a public bench like a couple in love. The tweet caught the eye of social media police who were quick to proclaim Unathi Nkayi and Kaylow- boyfriend and girlfriend with some castigating the two for displaying their relationship to the world.

If you were among those who were rooting for a romance between Kaylow and Unathi Nkayi then you will be disappointed to learn that there is none.

It turns out that the two talented personalities were only working together on Kaylow’s music video for his song Jola which was released in February.

Speaking to City Press, Kaylow revealed that he was single and that confirmed that he and Unathi Nkayi were just friends and colleagues.

Unathi Nkayi’s relationship history

Unathi Nkayi was once married to Kaya FM radio presenter- Thomas Msengana aka Bad Boy T and the couple had two children- Sinako and Imbo Msengana.

After dating for some time, the two powerful media personalities exchanged vows in 2009 and although we thought that theirs was a marriage of wedded bliss and contentment, there was trouble in paradise and in 2017, news about their divorce came to light.

The SA Idols revealed that their marriage had come to its inevitable end after she found n*de photos and explicit chats of her husband with another woman on his phone.

Unathi Nkayi and Thomas Msengana’s divorce was finalized in 2019 and the two went their separate ways but they reportedly share custody of their children and they continue to co-parent. In one of her past Instagram posts, Unathi Nkayi declared that there was no bad blood between Bad Boy T and herself and that Bad Boy T remained the love of her life.

It is not clear if Thomas Msengana has moved on as he has kept a low profile since then, but it appears that Unathi Nkayi has been focusing on her career, her fitness, and her friendships- all of which are thriving.

The talented Kaylow is one of the few celebrities who are very private about their personal lives and before the whole story between him and Unathi Nkayi came to light, he had never been publicly linked to a woman before.
