US RAPPER POKES FUN AT LOAD SHEDDING
In a tweet that had Mzansi howling, Russ – real name Russell Vitale – revealed the unusual advice he had been given from his SA fans.
“I’m being told I need to bring a generator,” he tweeted, referring to the country’s energy crisis.
He added: “I can’t do that one, but I’ll see y’all soon, South Africa. Keep the faith.”

Russ then shared screenshots of messages he had received from local fans. One read: “Don’t forget to bring your own generator.”
Finding the advice hilarious, he added a laughing-face emoji to the tweet.
Russ’s tour stopover in SA will be his second visit to the country. In 2019, he performed at Rocking The Daises. It’s unclear if his previous show was affected by load shedding.
The rapper is known for his hit songs Cherry Hill, Wife You Up, and Handsomer.

MORE ADVICE FROM MZANSI
It’s not the first time Mzansi has given Russ a piece of invaluable advice. The Atlanta-born star revealed that he had postponed his show from January to February because South Africans had complained about being “broke.”
In an IG Story, he shared, “I got a thousand + messages from South African fans saying January was the ‘worst time to come cuz everyone is broke.’ So I moved it to February LOL”.
Russ will perform at the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town on 24 February. The next day he will perform in Johannesburg at Monte Casino on 25 February.
