Kgoloko Thobejane has returned to coaching after signing a one-year deal with ABC Mostepe League side Som FC.
The former Baroka head coach parted ways with Bakgaga six months ago for the second time in his coaching career and is now back in the dugout with the North-West third-tier outfit.
Co-chairman Simon Obakeng Mochocho confirmed that Thobejane has been entrusted to lead the side to the Motsepe Foundation Championship, with excitement now brewing ahead of the 2022/23 season.
“He’s joined us at Som FC, he’s signed a one-year deal, we’ll extend it if he meets the agreed mandate which is promotion to the NFD,” he tells iDiski Times.
“The league starts next week Thursday. There are a few good professionals, one from JDR, two from Baroka, one from Pirates too.
“We were looking for experience, he’s a good coach, the players like him, and he’s a father figure, Thobejane is just a very good coach, he’s an understanding man, we’ve got a strong team with him and I believe we will compete for promotion.”
Thobejane played a pivotal role in Baroka’s rise from the amateur ranks to the top-flight and will be aiming for a similar trajectory with his new club.
