Injured Banyana Banyana star Thembi Kgatlana has sent a message to her teammates ahead of tonight’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final.
Kgatlana sustained a complete rupture of her left Achilles tendon in Banyana’s final WAFCON group stage game against Botswana and had to leave the camp after the quarter-final win in order to undergo surgery.
She has since successfully undergone surgery and wished her teammates good luck ahead of tonight’s WAFCON final against Morocco.
“Good morning Champions! This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad. Let’s go and bring that Trophy home, be sure because the Lord has gone ahead of us,” said Kgatlana, as per SAFA.
“Enjoy yourselves, I’ll be cheering for you all the way.”

The message was well received in camp with goalkeeper Andile Dlamini saying the team will fight for Kgatlana as well tonight.
“Thembi this is for you. We know that you are always supportive of us and screaming at your TV screen when we play,” ‘Sticks’ told SAFA.
“We will continue to fight. However, please don’t injure yourself again when you are watching and supporting us.”
