Swallows To Face Legal Action By Agents, Coaches & Players, Chairman Responds

Swallows are believed to be facing several cases within the PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC), an insider has told iDiski Times, with Swallows chairman David Mogashoa also responding to the situation.

The source has also described Swallows as a club that has spent more than what they can afford since they were promoted to the DStv Premiership ahead of the 2020/21 season.

According to the source, after they got promoted to the top flight, Swallows were paying Kamohelo Mahlatsi around R150,000 per month after they signed him from SuperSport United, a huge increase as the Tshwane giants were only paying him a little over R20,000.

“Look at Swallows, they came in and overspent,” said the mole.

“Now look at what happened. They are owing so many players money through the DRC. They have been sued by players, coaches and agents – its circus.

“Why? They wanted to spend more than what they have. They took Kamohelo Mahlatsi, a reserve player of note, no regular, no regular starter, no anything. SuperSport got big money.

“And not only that, the boy was earning just over R20,000 and he went there and signed for over seven times of that.”

Swallows, though, have since sold Mahlatsi to Kaizer Chiefs at the beginning of the season, where he is said to be earning more.

Interestingly, he has not played much at Chiefs, with only 19 minutes thus far this season.

“After one year, geez, they realised that they had to get him out of here and they sold him to Chiefs because they couldn’t afford his salaries,” added the insider.

“I’m saying to you that, there’s an artificial economy and there is spending more than you have. Most clubs in the PSL are spending more than they have.”

Due to the non-payment of players in the past regime, Swallows cannot sign new players currently and in the next window, having been banned by FIFA, with chairman Mogashoa confirming the issues when contacted by iDiski Times.

“Obviously there is going to be stuff from last year and this is stuff from last year,” said an angry Swallows chairman David Mogashoa.

“All these are last year’s stuff and obviously they drag and they are dragging forever. I mean we still have stuff dragging from last year and this year and I must answer all that rubbish? I don’t have time for that.”
