E.tv’s long-running soap opera, Scandal!, experienced a rise in viewership after expanding its episode offerings in July. According to the Broadcast Research Council of SA, the show’s viewership increased from 3.2 million in June to 3.6 million in July.

This boost followed the show’s decision to air new episodes every day at 19:30, making it the first South African soapie to broadcast daily. Despite this increase, Scandal! remains in third place behind House of Zwide and Isitha: The Enemy. It also trails behind SABC1’s Skeem Saam, which garnered 4.3 million viewers in July. The top spot is held by Uzalo with 5.6 million viewers.
