Swallows FC missed the opportunity to move away from the danger zone on the DSTV Premiership log when they drew 1-1 with Marumo Gallants at a rainy Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

The result means they remain second from the bottom with 20 points from 25 games while Gallants remain in 11th place now equal on 30 points with Sekhukhune United from the same number of matches.

The visitors started well getting an early goal through Ruzaigh Gamildien in the 2nd minute. Kagiso Malinga had a chance to extend that lead three minutes later but his shot went wide.

Gallants then took the game to the opponent with Katlego Otladisa getting a chance to level in the eighth minute but he was off the mark. The midfielder continued to be a thorn in the Swallows side without luck.

In the 21st minute, Grant Margeman brought Joseph Molangoane down earning Gallants a set-piece.

Phillip Ndlondlo’s shot was blocked but kept alive enough for Otladisa to slot home and equalise for the home side. The sides went into the break tied at 1-1. The second half was defined by missed chances from both sides.
