Stellenbosch’s DStv Diski Challenge top scorer Fuad Johnson is a free agent, and there is reportedly interest both locally and abroad for the teenager.

iDiski Times can confirm that the now-former Stellenbosch goal machine has been officially and surprisingly released even though he was the club’s DStv Diski Challenge top scorer.

The 19-year-old scored 11 goals as Stellies went on to win 2021/2022 DDC title.

“I’m currently training on my own with someone helping me,” Johnson told iDiski Times after being asked why he was release. “I don’t know what’s going on, this is football.”

Due to his departure the interest around Fuad Johnson has reportedly grown, with a number of DStv Premiership clubs showing a genuine interest in the forward, but whilst on trial in Belgium, KVC Westerlo and Antwerp also demonstrated an interest in him.

“It wasn’t bad there,” Johnson added.

“It was actually good, had a nice experience and they said they’re gonna let me know when they come back for their pre-season in July. both clubs were interested.”
