Stash Lands In Hot Water At Leopards

Black Leopards team manager Eric Muneri has confirmed to iDiski Times that the Motsepe Foundation Championship side have suspended Siphelele Ntshangase from training.

The manager did not divulge the reasons for this action, saying it is “confidential matters”. It has been reported in the media that the former Baroka FC and Kaizer Chiefs man is in trouble because of discipline issues.

Stash, as the midfielder is affectionately known, re-joined Leopards in January 2023 after going a year without playing competitive football.

Before that he endured an unsuccessful four year stint at Chiefs, which saw his contract terminated under unfavourable circumstances. He later joined Marumo Gallants but only made three appearances.

After joining Leopards, Ntshangase told iDiski Times in January that he wanted to use the opportunity to “be Michael Jackson again“, but things seemingly didn’t work out, with his appearance coming from 18 March against Casric Stars.

Muneri has now confirmed to this publication that the former South Africa junior international has been suspended from training for three weeks. However, he insisted only club chairman David Thidiela could confirm whether the player’s contract has been torn up as well.

“From the technical side we have laid him off from training but as far as his contract is concerned then you need to talk to the chairman,” Muneri told iDiski Times.

“We have laid him off from training, it is confidential matters. I learned that now people are talking about his contract but that will be sorted out with the old man.

“This is the third week he has been laid off.”

Meanwhile Lidoda Duvha still have all to do in their fight for survival in the promotional league as they currently sit second from bottom on the log with 21 points, six points from safety with four matches left to play.
