Siyabonga Nkosi has joined Sekhukhune United as they continue to beef up their squad ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The talented winger signed a three-year deal with Babina Noko and has started training with the first team. Nkosi recently turned 20 and spent last season in the GladAfrica Championship with Jomo Cosmos, who have since been relegated to the ABC Motsepe League.

Although he couldn’t help Ezenkosi avoid relegation, the attacking sensation was amongst the top performers for the club, with his eight appearances and two goals in the league enough to earn him a top-flight contract.

Despite training with the Sekhukhune senior side, indications that the highly rated youngster might play for the DStv Diski Challenge team, which will afford him enough game time.

The speedy attacker, nicknamed Continental after the late Orlando Pirates star Gift Leremi because of his ambidextrous abilities, will be gradually introduced to topflight football.

“He’s a talented player, and the club sees him as a future investment. He’ll train with the first team and play in the Diski Challenge to continue with his development,” a source said.

The Kempton Park-based side has been one of the busiest teams in the transfer window with the signing of Kaizer Chiefs’ target Victor Letsoalo.

Former Orlando Pirates stars Linda Mntambo and Tshegofatso Mabasa, Siphokashe Ntiya-Ntiya, Daniel Cardoso, Tashreeq Morris, Katlego Mkhabela, Thamsanqa Masiya, Lesego Sebetlela, Tresor Yamba Yamba, Wonderboy Makhubu, Badra Ali Sangare, Denwin Farmer, Abednego Mosiatlhaga, Elias Mokwana and Tshepo Mokhabi.

Mntambo was named captain despite joining the team in the current window. After finishing 11th on the log in their maiden season in the elite league, Kaitano Tembo’s side will be looking for an improved campaign as the league kicks-off on 5 August.
