Sithebe Breaks Silence On Chiefs Move

Siyethemba Sithebe has finally broken his silence on his move to Kaizer Chiefs and how he felt when he was pushed to the stands by AmaZulu.

The 29-year-old is expected to join Amakhosi upon the expiry of his contract on 30 June.

He was frozen out of the Usuthu line-up after club president Sandile Zungu felt, Sithebe agreed his Chiefs transfer before the January transfer window opened, while a January move didn’t materialise.

However, the player insisted he couldn’t miss the opportunity to move to the Soweto giants, but also expressed his gratitude to AmaZulu.

“It was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down,” Sithebe told Sun Sport.

“AmaZulu was like home to me and what they did was huge. I am where I am because of them and for that, I just want to thank them. As payers, we also have our dreams and we have to make them become reality.

“We also have to move on as we have things we want to achieve. But the club gave me love as my life changed. I went to play for Bafana Bafana and that is because of Usuthu and my profile is better now.”

Sithebe also opened on being sidelined for the last six months, saying he still tried to help the team off the pitch.

“It did affect me because I was someone who was used to playing,” he continued.

“But sometimes such things happen in football.

“I knew the reasons behind it and my heart was clean, happy and motivating other players and wishing them the best all the time.”
