Kaizer Chiefs have pulled the trigger again, opting to not renew the contracts of defenders Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya.
The duo’s contracts expire at the end of this month.
‘Rama’, as he’s popularly known within football cycles, joined Amakhosi back in 2016 from Mamelodi Sundowns. Ever since his arrival at Naturena, he played 127 games.
His leadership on and off the pitch saw him wear the captain’s armband a number of times for the Glamour Boys.
Meanwhile, Ntiya-Ntiya rose through the development ranks to become an important member of the first team in January 2018.
The 25-year-old played 54 matches for the senior team and he was part of the Soweto giants team that went to two finals, the Nedbank Cup in 2019 and the CAF Champions League last year.
The two players have been given their clearances and they are now free to join any team of their choice.
