‘Shaka Ilembe’ star Ntando Zondi grateful for young Shaka role
Ntando Zondi, the talented young actor who portrays the character of young Shaka in the show ‘Shaka Ilembe’, says that being part of the production is a life-changing experience for him.

The 15-year-old actor, who is currently in grade 8, tells Sunday World that he can’t believe he’s part of the series. “Being part of this production is an honour and very special to me and my family. I cannot believe that I am part of a series that is so epic and telling an important story. I am so grateful for the opportunity and taking on the big role of young Shaka Zulu who grows to become a formidable King in the future. For me, this is a life-changing experience.”

Awards and Recognition
In addition to his role on ‘Shaka Ilembe’, Ntando has also been awarded certificates in drama, Arts and Culture, and Academics in his final year of primary school.
Being Chosen for ‘Shaka Ilembe’ Role
According to DStv, Ntando was selected to play young Shaka out of hundreds of young actors, despite having no formal training in acting before joining the show. The Bomb Production casting team reveals that they were looking for a young teen who had talent and looked similar to actor Lemogang Tsipa, who plays the adult Shaka.

He is killing his role as little Shaka.” Another commented, “He’s only 15 years old, but he’s already showing a lot of talent.
