Sekgota Lands New Club After Chiefs Exit

Stellenbosch have secured the services of Kgaogelo Sekgota on a free transfer after he reached an agreement to terminate his contract with Kaizer Chiefs.
Sekgota, 26, leaves Chiefs after a tumultuous season that saw him being heralded as the club’s star player to being outcasted from the first eleven.
The off-season signing of Pule Mmodi and Tebogo Potsane puts him further behind in the pecking order with Keagan Dolly, Christain Saile and Kamohelo Mahlatsi on the books.
iDiski Times understands Chiefs and the South Africa international winger agreed on a settlement before Stellenbosch concluded a deal on Tuesday.
He wasn’t yet at the official media day and kit launch, where the club unveiled nine new signings, but looks set to be unveiled later this week before their 2023/24 season opener against Orlando Pirates at Danie Craven.
“It’s positive, it’s likely to happen in the next short while,” Steve Barker said when asked by iDiski Times.
“As a coach, I obviously want it [confirmed] as soon as possible and then we’ll make it official.”
