Sakho’s Situation At Simba Revealed

Simba SC winger Pape Ousmane Sakho is open to leaving the club but finds himself in a precarious position after the latest transfer offers.

Sakho, 25, has brought himself continental attention since joining the East African giants back from then Senegalese champions, Teungueth FC in August last year.

His pace, trickery and direct running style has been easy on the eye in the Ligi Kuu Bara and notably in CAF inter-club competitions which has seen Simba field several calls over the player.

Orlando Pirates showed slight interest in the player after their meeting in the CAF Confederation Cup, however, no official offer was ever made to the club as of now.

iDiski Times has learnt there has, however, been some tempting bids from Al Hilal Club and more recently Raja Athletic Club entered the race for the Senegal winger.

Back in April, Hilal stumped up a bid in the region of $600,000 (R10.2-million) which Simba accepted but the player was not keen on the idea of relocating his family to Sudan.

At the start of July, clearly not deterred by Sakho’s reluctance, they returned with a second bid of $900.000 (R15-million) which notably turned heads within the Simba hierarchy.

But once more Sakho is understood to be more willing to remain in Tanzania as he feels it’s best suited for his career rather than moving to the Sudan Premier League.

While the move to the Botola Pro with Raja was more appealing, their bid was well short of Hilal’s tempting offers, despite a structured offer for further incentives – which Simba has rejected and informed the Moroccan club he is no longer for sale.
