Royal AM & Chiefs XIs Confirmed

Royal AM and Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed their starting line-ups as the two sides prepare to kick off their DStv Premiership campaigns this evening.

After controversy regarding the tickets for the game, the highly anticipated mouth-watering clash is set to kick off at Chatsworth Stadium.

Last season’s ‘overachievers’ Royal AM will be aiming to continue where they left off when they face Kaizer Chiefs in what is a highly-anticipated fixture, considering what happened between the two teams last season.

‘Thwihli Thwahla’ got the better of Amakhosi in the first round hammering them by 4-1 in Soweto, before beating them 1-0 in KZN to claim all six points.

But a lot has changed at Royal AM and Chiefs since those results. Royal AM have a new coaching team, and have also sold Victor Letsoalo who was key in those victories, but Royal AM will be out to prove last season’s double over Chiefs wasn’t a fluke.

The Amakhosi know the importance of this game as they want to set the tone of the new season and bring back the confidence to their supporters. They will also take confidence knowing that in the PSL era they have a good record when starting the season in KZN, having won four and drawn once in previous opening games in the province.

Here’s how the two teams line up tonight:

Royal AM XI: Nyame, Manganyi, Nascimento, Ndlovu, Lingwati, Mahlasela, Mogaila, De Jong, Potsane, Kobedi, Macuphu

Kaizer Chiefs XI: Bvuma, Frosler, Blom Ngezana, Kwinika, Alexander, Maart, Sithebe, Dolly, Billiat, Du Preez

In the latest edition of iDiski Times you can hear from new Kaizer Chiefs signings Ashley Du Preez, Zitha Kwinika and Dillan Solomons. We also hear from the new bosses from the Soweto giants, with Arthur Zwane outlaying his ambition for Kaizer Chiefs, and Jose Riveiro for Orlando Pirates. There is also reaction from Hildah Magaia, Nomvula Kgoale and Nthabiseng Majiya after Banyana’s historic WAFCON triumph, and reaction to Benni McCarthy’s appointment at Manchester United, plus much more.
