Richards Bay sign ex-Baroka defender | African News

Newly promoted Premiership side Richards Bay have signed former Baroka FC defender Matome Mabeba on a two-year deal.

Mabeba joins the Natal Rich Boyz on a free transfer after his contract with TS Sporting expired. 

The 31-year, who was part of the Telkom Knockout cup winning squad for Bakgakga in 2019 against Orlando Pirates, spent the past two seasons with GladAfrica Championship outfit TS Sporting.

In the second tier, he made 26 appearances and scored three goals in the past season for the Mpumalanga-based side. 

The left-footed defender had a frustrating stint with TS Galaxy in the 2019/20 season, where he only managed five appearances. 

Richards Bay is expected to make more signings when the transfer window opens on the 1st of July as the team looks to make a stride in the top-flight come next season.
