Pretoria man hitches a trolley onto truck on highway

Yes, this Pretoria man really hitches a trolley onto a truck to travel along the highway. Footage of the shopping trolley hitched onto the back of an Engen fuel tanker went viral over the weekend.
With heavy rains hitting the city since Sunday, many feel the man’s antics are dangerous because of the speed the tanker is travelling in.
Added to the that the wet and slippery road conditions and it’s an accident waiting to happen.
Despite the rainy weather, the man seems to be enjoying his little hitch-hike and can be seen waving and smiling at passersby.
The man is holding onto the back of the truck and the trolley seems to be sturdy enough to withstand his weight.
We know the cost of petrol has South Africans considering other ways of transport, but this is a little extreme.
This clip could have ended perilously should a wheel from the trolley have broken off. Unfortunately, there is no way of confirming if the man made it safely off the highway, or managed to safely let go of the truck.
The video clips below are only a few seconds long.
People have reacted to the clips in horror, shock and humour, with some pointing out that the man has a death wish.
With the number of road fatalities recently, we can only hope that Metro Police caught wind of the situation and intervened so this man’s dangerous joy rides can stop.
