KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Sihle Zikalala, says they will ask the government to declare the floods a national disaster.
Zikalala says the floods have caused greater levels of devastation and that much more assistance will be required to assist those affected.
He also says that the needs identified are enormous, and billions will be required to repair and rebuild this province.
The premier confirmed that the death toll from the floods now stands at 443.
While, 63 more people are still missing.
