His matriculant daughter Abongwe received an academic award for achieving a 70% pass rate this year. She also received a second award for selection of the KwaZulu Natal coastal U19 soccer team by the KwaZulu Natal High schools’ Football Association girls committee.
Talking to a news reporter, Musa Mseleku said:
There’s a lot I feel proud of as far as she is concerned. I don’t take all the credit because the mom has made so much of a contribution in encouraging her to study and focus. I’ve also supported her in her sport and academics, and I’ve allowed her to be what she wants to be. Raising her has not been much of a challenge, she is disciplined and very independent.

Musa Mseleku’s youngest son, who is in grade 3, also received an award in mathematics. With his busy and tight schedule, Musa could not be present for the certificate handover, but he ensured he expressed his pride in him.
I spoke to him and congratulated him in person and told him how proud I am of him
Musa Mseleku’s children are bringing joy into his life, and he won’t stop bragging about them on his reality show. On parenting, Musa said he learnt not to dictate his children’s dreams but rather nature and encourage them to persist in their talents.
I’m at the stage where I’m enjoying parenting a lot. I find more joy in seeing them achieving things that I wouldn’t have achieved in my time. They are excelling. I would encourage other parents to listen to their children … parents must allow their children to be what they want to be
