Orlando Pirates look to set hijack the transfer for Lamontville Golden Arrows winger Pule Mmodi.
Mmodi was heavily linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs a few months ago but by the look of things Pirates are now leading the race to sign the of the speedy winger.
The 29-year-old joined Arrows in October 2020 from the Uthongathi FC and has made 75 appearances for the club since, scoring 14 goals, however, his contract was running out by the end of June.
Abafana Bes’thende recently confirmed the re-signing of Ntsako Makhubela on loan from Pirates on Wednesday morning.
A close source told this publication that Makhubela’s move will see Mmodi going the opposite way this month.
Knowing the history between the two clubs when it comes to players transfer this won’t be a surprise move after we’ve seen the likes of Siyabonga Sangweni, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Thamsanqa Gabuza moving from Arrows to the Buccaneers.
The attacking midfielder has been instrumental for the KwaZulu Natal-based side, having made 14 league appearances this season, scored on four occasions and assisting once.
