Orlando Pirates have confirmed the club have officially started pre-season and will have a first camp in Rustenburg between 2 and 8 July.
The Buccaneers returned to work earlier this week, with physical and health checks being done at the High Performance Centre in Tshwane on Monday.
Next week, the club will camp for several days in Rustenburg, before their trip to Spain.
“After a five-week break from club activity, the players marked their return with visits to the High-Performance Centre in Tshwane on Monday to undergo the first part of preseason, which involves medicals and general assessments,” the club stated.
“The double-champions will conclude all observations this week, before heading to Rustenburg to mark the official start of the 2023 preseason schedule.
Club physio Kutlwano Molefe added: “The first camp will be from July 2 to July 8, 2023. The holiday season is over, it is time to knuckle down and prepare for the season ahead.
“However, before we begin with conditioning and football work, we need to first establish a physical, physiological and psychological base that will determine the rest of the season.
“This is probably one of the most important parts of the season.”
Pirates are yet to officially confirm the details of their Spain camp, but they are understood to head to Europe between 9 and 20 July, as previously reported by iDiski Times.
Meanwhile, 23-times Isreali champions Maccabi Tel Aviv have confirmed that they will face the Buccaneers in a friendly match on 13 July.
