Only A Matter Of Time – Tshabalala

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies head coach Jerry Tshabalala has admitted the side has had an unusual start to the 2023 Hollywoodbets Super League season.

This is despite the side having a perfect record and staying at the top of the log, with nine points in three games. Tshabalala’s side is known for their ruthlessness in front of goal but this term, so far they have enjoyed some narrow wins and close calls.

Speaking after his side’s 2-1 win over First Touch Academy in Mankweng, the coach said the absence of key players has also been a challenge for the former African champions however believes it is only a matter of time before they come to the party.

“I always say it goes back to preparation. We never have enough time to prepare. I tell you this is the first time ever, the first season ever where I started the league without knowing my best 11,” he said after the game.

“It makes things very difficult because you chop and change but eventually it will fall into place. I get to see which players will give me whatever I want.

“With us having so many injuries Miche Minnies is out, we’ve got Nonhlanhla Mthandi out with flu and Sedilame Boseja as well is out with flu.

“A couple of our players are down with flu hence you see today we only brought about 16 players into today’s game.

“But what matters the most is the fact that we got three points and I know this team will come to the party gradually. We will be better.”
